With a new location for this year’s event, Show Car Sunday was ready to set the bar for modified car shows in Sydney and on offer were some of Australia’s finest show cars. With the event heavily dominated by two of Sydney’s workshops, of course being Queen St Smash Repairs and 2SUS Custom Resprays, the event sure had its fair share of show stoppers on display.
Upon entry to the event, the work of 2SUS Custom Resprays was highly noticeable with Albert’s MY99 ‘REXC’ Subaru WRX on display along with Simon’s immaculately presented ‘GOD100’ Mazda R100, Justin’s ‘ON SHO’ Subaru WRX, Moe’s ‘LEX GO’ Lexus IS200 and Ara’s ‘TYMSUP’ Toyota MR2. Although the main feature within the 2SUS Custom Resprays stand was Bassa’s ‘SUSRX7’ Mazda RX7 which made its debut at the event.
Whilst on the subject on cars debuting, Mohamed from Queen St Smash had a little surprise for everyone when he unveiled his new ‘KINGZ’ Ferrari 360 Spyder. Dressed in pearl white paint and sitting on 22” Asanti wheels on the rear, the car was arguably best of show. With Mohamed’s famous ‘QUEENS’ Ferrari also on display alongside the ‘S2SEXY’ Honda S2000, the Queen St stand was more than a popular attraction.
With the event drawing so many entries, it was a case of where to look next. The quality of cars was nothing short of amazing with ‘MRHT’ leaving onlookers in awe of such a quality build. Queen St Smash and 2SUS Custom Resprays also had a strong presence in the second hall with many customer cars on display. Danny and the Custom Bodyworks crew were on hand with a barrage of cars including some of Australia’s finest drag cars. The crew from M&M Racing proudly displayed their new look Toyota Solara and Danny’s ‘CUSTM1’ Subaru WRX again pulled in plenty of attention.
With this year’s event pulling in so many entries and quality cars, I can only see the growth of Show Car Sunday going from strength to strength!
