When you bring Australia’s best cars and bikes all under one roof, you have one hell of a show. The annual Meguiar’s MotorEx was held in Homebush over the weekend and it sure lived up to its name. Australia’s best hot rods, rat rods, hi-tech tuners, custom choppers and even cars still under construction were on display for the crowd and sitting pretty for the cameras.
As I mentioned above, some of Australia’s best cars were on display, although one car did manage to steal the show. ‘Jealous Ahura’ – An exquisite Mazda RX7 built in Malaysia and owned by the Prince of Malaysia himself. The prince was on hand over the weekend to watch people stop and stare in amazement. I myself was in awe at the style of this RX7 and the quality of the build. The car was a massive hit over the weekend with Chanel 9 even making an appearance and filming the car.
Plenty of other cars were flooded with attention throughout the weekend. With so many top line cars on display, it was almost hard to make the decision of where to look next. X Customs had a strong line up of cars present at the event and also un veiled a stunning RX4. With everything from an air bagged VE SS to hot rods and hi tech tuners, they sure made their presence known.
A few cars really stood out for me with the main one being ‘MEKE69’. A tubbed twin turbo 69 Camaro sitting on massive billet wheels and dressed in immaculate black paint. The red trim and an all chrome engine bay helped me make my decision about car of the show. Personal standouts also included the ‘BLOWJO’ XY Falcon powered by an 8/71 and the ‘SICKO’ HQ GTS Monaro.
The annual Meguiar’s MotorEx once again produced plenty of entertainment and automotive eye candy and the Balabka Design crew will definitely be in attendance in 2010!
